Harry Carlson is a multimedia artist born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. He received his BFA in Studio Art from the University of Arizona. His formal training started with practice in two dimensional work and moved into three dimensional and extended media. During this time of study, the focus of his work was identity— exploring the uniqueness of individuality.
After finishing school, he began further study in spiritual and sociopolitical philosophy. This expanded the focus from the individual to the collective. The understanding of self allows for further connection with others and vice-versa.
Harry’s contemporary work explores themes of life and death and the energy that makes up and connects all things. His influences in this work include the cultures and landscapes of the North American southwest, the flora of the Sonoran Desert, and the philosophy of non-dualism.
Harmony leads to liberation.
